Disease Basics 101: A world of misdiagnosis

So, what did the doctor say? Is it a disease, a disorder or a syndrome? Is it a neurochemical or neurobiological imbalance? Could you have a cognitive dysfunction or impairment? Are your problems genetic or can you not inherit bad eating habits? Do you have central sensitization syndrome? Maybe what you have is "comorbidity," meaning it's a host of disorders on top of other disorders on top of a syndrome, which could be muscular, psychiatric or stress-related. Maybe it's all just an anomaly and your doctor has no clue about the causes.

Finally, does you doctor use broad terms and a vague yet somehow complicated and confusing diagnosis just before scribbling out that prescription that seems to have worse side effects than your root problems? Still, you'll do almost anything, right, at this point, to get rid of the pain, the depression and the anxiety. Well, almost anything.

Let's begin this "diagnosis" and "analysis" of terms by discussing the top disorders, dysfunctions, diseases, maladies, or whatever you want to call them, in laymen's terms, that describe conditions as ongoing "end results" of bad eating habits, some of which people are never even made aware.

If Western Medicine has you confused and solving NOTHING, then they've done their job. If you are a client for life (regular patient) and your "medicines" only dull the pain and make you feel like a zombie, then "Big Pharma" has done its job. It's time to "do a job" on Big Pharma and end the madness that's polluting your body, mind and soul, day in and day out.

Top Issues - All of which barely even existed in America 80 years ago!


The central symptom of fibromyalgia, namely widespread pain, appears to result from neurochemical imbalance, which includes activation of inflammatory pathways in the brain, resulting in abnormalities in pain "processing." It has been described as a "central sensitization syndrome" caused by neurobiological abnormalities creating physiological pain and cognitive impairments, as well as neuropsychological symptomatology. Why don't they just come out and say it - you are eating foodchemicals. Food agents like MSG, aspartame, food colorings, fluoridated water, GM grains and bleached foods are common, especially in America. Bottom line: Fibromyalgia is often misdiagnosed by Western medicine (allopathic) practitioners due to their lack of nutritional education.


Arthritis is basically calcification and the long-term result of a lack of essential minerals. Hemp seed oil, pressed from the seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant, has been named nature's perfect food due to its balanced concentrations of omega fatty acids. Hemp used to be consumed worldwide, as it was one of the first cultivated and consumed crops.

The seed of the hemp plant contains some of the most balanced and richest sources of oils on the planet. The ideal 3:1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 is recommended by the World Health Organization for optimal health. Do you know about the calcium myth?

Well-known author and supporter of the raw-vegan lifestyle David Wolfe says, "Calcium does not build bones. This is one of the biggest misconceptions ever." He states that silicon and magnesium are the keys to increasing bone density. Start taking silicon and magnesium to increase your bone density. Foods that contain silicon include bell peppers, soybeans, leafy green vegetables, alfalfa, beets, brown rice, rolled oats, nettles, hemp leaf and horsetail. Also, magnesium is found in nuts such as cashews, almonds, macadamia and cacao. Foods like halibut, avocados, oatmeal, baked potatoes and spinach also contain magnesium. Make sure that you are adding plenty of green, leafy vegetables to your diet, as they are foods rich in magnesium. They are also a good source of calcium and silicon.


Everyone knows that foods high in fat or sugar are unhealthy in large quantities. Given the high rates of obesity in America, we are hearing more and more about the importance of healthy eating habits. Make no mistake about it - poor diet can lead to osteoporosis. Heavy intake of salt in the typical American diet is a big reason why daily calcium requirements are so high. Though sodium is a necessary part of the human diet, more than 90 percent of our sodium is consumed via TABLE SALT. Big mistake! Table salt specifically causes calcium loss. In fact, 40 mg of calcium is lost through urine for every 2,300 mg of sodium (one tsp. of salt) consumed - and the average American takes in at least 4,000 mg daily. Keep reading.

Cancer: Cancer, my friends, is a disorder of the cells as they mutate, multiply uncontrollably and attack your good cells. Cancer feeds off of food "chemicals." When you stop eating and drinking synthetic foods, toxic food agents, processed foods and pesticides, cancer loses its power or "fuel." Cancer is often misdiagnosed by Western medicine (allopathic) practitioners due to their lack of nutritional education. There is barely an allopathic MD who will discuss GMOs with you. Just ask them and listen to them scramble for answers.

The AMA removed nutrition from medical schools in America over 80 years ago. Look it up! 

Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease: Individuals with type II diabetes have an 83 percent greater risk of developing Parkinson's. Elevated blood sugar is known to link with protein structures in a process called glycation. This reaction of reducing sugars connecting to amino acids creates advanced glycolytic enzymes (AGEs) that are especially dangerous and create massive amounts of free radicals. Also, oxidative stress in the brain is most commonly associated with blood sugar imbalances and environmental toxins (such as heavy metals and organic toxins like pesticides and herbicides).

Corn syrup, which is usually in the form of HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) is concentrated sugar and contains pesticide (GMO).

What are the most common food "drugs" causing disease and disorder?

Fluoridated water:

Tap water contains dangerous levels of toxic fluoride imported from China!

MSG (monosodium glutamate) and its 20 or more aliases:

This concentrated salt leads to migraine headaches and is found in most salty chips, soups, salad dressings and precooked meats and pizzas. It has a lot of alternate names and evil "cousins" - like autolyzed yeast extract and hydrolyzed soy protein.

Aspartame is a food drug:

This silent disaster was approved during the Ronald Reagan assault on food back in the 1980s. Aspartame fuels central nervous system imbalance and disorders in the brain.

GMO means that the food contains some form of pesticide and/or herbicide:

Biotech is just a fancy word for putting pesticides, insecticides and herbicides in the seeds of edible crops to ward off bugs and weeds. Are you a bug or weed? Then don't eat it, ever. Never eat GMO food.

Inflammation is the King of Pain

Sure it takes a while to "set in," but inflammation is not just some "touch and go" term regarding some "symptom" that you can just cover up with drugs. People underestimate inflammation's power to do collateral damage to the body, across the board. Inflammation is so common that it should be classified as a syndrome in America. Did you know that animal protein and whole grains cause inflammation? I bet you heard different about meat and whole grains. Understand this: "Your body wants amino acids, but meat is just a complicated 'middle man' that requires massive digestive 'work' to get to them. You can cut out the middle man! The focus is on nutrition, so let your body 'focus' on real protein that's easily accessible. Most people incorrectly believe that dietary protein must come from eating animals or dairy products. Plants are full of protein, much of it in the form of enzymes, peptides and amino acids in the labile state."

GMO salmon, wheat and most dairy products cause inflammation:

Have you heard of the eel-like salmon, overloaded with hormones and DNA from other fish, that got released into the oceans - it's an utter health disaster and worldwide ocean "eco-disaster." Did you know that genetically modified wheat has "escaped" into 16 or more U.S. states? These are cold hard facts to digest, or rather, not to digest! Plus, retail giant Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., has announced that all the store-brand milk sold in both Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores in the United States will now be produced by cows not treated with artificial growth hormones. Approximately 18 percent of dairy cows in the United States are injected with Monsanto Co.'s recombinant bovine somatotropin (rBST), also known as recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH). These drugs force cows' bodies to produce 15 percent more milk than usual. Don't drink GMO milk.

Gluten is toxic "food glue" that sticks to your insides and keeps the pesticides infecting your digestive and excretive processes. Avoid gluten at all costs, even if you don't have Celiac or IBS.

Top two natural remedies:

  1. Juicing raw organic vegetables is the number one solution to most of these broad money-making, bad health schemes created by Big Food and misdiagnosed by Western medicine.
  2. Making smoothies with raw, organic fruit is number two. You simply MUST stop putting toxins into your body and start revitalizing your nutrient base.

YIPPIE!!!!!!!!! We can share recipes! Mine arrived today too... although mines a second hand George Foreman and a bit worse for wear - at least I can give my teen daughters juicer back to her before she leaves for school again :D - she got it for Christmas after asking her dad for one. 

I tell you Fiona - Im not feeling that flash this last month but that juicer has changed my whole way of eating.  I can get power packed nutrition in an instant.

Your beautiful son is so lucky to have a switched on set of parents Fiona.  I am shocked by some of the things you have shared in your journey with him.

So glad you got one too.  It makes food much easier to process and digest if you are struggling with your health.  Power packed nutrition ehy!!  Hope you feel much better soon.  I am still battling with an on and off dry cough since October and accompanying fatigue - only in one lung now.

Thanks for encouraging words about our son and us.  most people can't handle his diagnosis and he has become invisible to many - even some in the family who view his problems as psychological - so it has been very hard for him.  He was just qualified as a chef at 20 when he started the allergy treatment and then it has been a down hill run over the last ten years resulting in being unable to work at all 4yrs ago.  Since diagnosis and proof of aluminium toxicity via lab testing it has been a challenge to get the stuff out of him. Once the brain is inflamed and immune system crazy there is a cascade of problems.  Recently his skin has been on fire - burning , itching and tingling and he scratched himself raw.  Just abut all healed now but he is scarred.  For one moment there I thought he had the dreaded M, but we found no fibres thank God.  I think he had a bit of staph but cream cleared it.  Anyway he has had had more tests.  He has convinced himself he has Lymes now - the mind goes crazy when you don't know what is wrong!

Five years ago he had a beautiful old restored Merc car, was independent and had a girlfriend.  So he has had to let go of a lot and also battle with the mood swings and other horrid cognitive things that happen with AL poisoning.  luckily his IQ is in tact and above average.  Anyway we have faith that he will come right.  The body has an amazing ability to restore itself with the help it needs.

God bless - and yes recipes will be shared.  I found kale (unless tender young leaves) is not too good pulverized, better in a juicer as you don't get woody fibers.

Dear Fiona, I was also moved to read what you are also battling, it is so hard for some of us, but your attitude and courage, like Rose, is amazing.

If your son still has allergies, can I suggest you see if you have a practitioner who does NAET,

a very simple treatment that will totally remove the allergy with in 24 hours.

The therapist has to know the job and be accurate with the testing to get it right, I was a practitioner for 14 years in the UK,until my husbands disabilities became so time consuming that I had to give it up and be his full time carer.

NAET really works but some practitioners  are not as good as others. It really is a skill.

Dear Jenny thanks for your concern and recommendation. He is seeing a NAET practitioner who has been amazing. We are making progress- so many issues to deal with. She identified all food to avoid for a while. He can eat some of it again now. She has identified supplements to use and all round things are slowly improving. She also does haemaview - looking through microscope at your blood to see what is going on there.
It must have been a great career - sorry to hear you had to stop. How is your husband now? Sounds like you have a tough road yourself - bit of a saint.God bless.:-)
Interesting article with good insight. Think that when it's said meat causes inflammation it's cafo meat I.e confined animal feeding operation. Cattle prefer grasses to corn-which causes their system to go acidic thus antacids are added to their feed. As we know, acidic systems breed dis-ease and thus added antibiotics into the feed. I've been told That Feedlots have been among the largest purchasers of antacids. I've been fortunate to know phenomenal healers who have taught me well, literally
We seem to go from one fad to another. We just moved back to NZ. Big focus on gluten free and celiac. Everywhere you go gluten free. Went to Street organics cafe - glutn free muffins sounded v good. On questioning, the flour used is a toxic combo - maize, soy, rice etc. So guess what - and it is not organic therefore from corn and soy belts in USA and probably GMO.
So many people have switched from glyphosate laced wheat to gluten free gmo glyphosate laced substitute. I had to tell the owner it was probably worse than flour.
No one here seems to use low gluten easy to digest spelt. Delicious in all cooking. Best kept sectret in NZ. Am making my own spelt bread with sprouts in the mix (home grown mung and brown lentil) - so good.
