Meet the women who don't shave or wax their body hair

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/life/had-rocks-thrown-meet-women-d...

In women’s bathrooms and cabinets across the country one implement is getting far less use than ever before.

According to research analysts Mintel it has never been more acceptable for women to forgo razors and tubs of wax, and let their body hair grow with silky abandon.

The company found that almost one in four young women have given up shaving their underarm... and, for millennial women (those roughly born between 1980 and 2000), the drive to remove arm and leg hair has been in steady decline for years.

In 2013, 95 per cent of women aged 16 to 24 said they removed hair from their underarms. In 2016, that dropped to 77 per cent. It’s a similar story for legs - in 2013, 92 per cent said they shaved but last year that had fallen to 85 per cent.

It’s no surprise then that we’re investing less in hair removal products, which fell overall by 5 per cent between 2015 and 2016.

Many, including Daisy Walker, 27, a fashion photographer and co-founder of Women in Fashion (WiF) who gave up shaving two years ago, believe it’s down to a greater visual representation of hairy women. Perhaps the most memorable in popular culture was Julia Roberts who in 1999 attended the Notting Hill premiere with unshaven pits - something that made headlines around the world (most disapproving).

And a lot of us are not wearing a bra any more. Wrap that around your chest with wire in it! Seoiously do you know a man that would.

Thanks Snafu, I am enjoying your posts.

Gwad - I needed this for breakfast - think I'll take a sick day

Wiki: How to be a Hairy Woman

I like hairy women. Considering that the hairiest woman has nowhere near as much body hair as the average man, it's only mild amounts of hairiness we can encounter in women anyway. But I love it.

Mrs. Mojo has never shaved her legs in her entire life, not once. Her leg hair is exquisitely fine, light, downy, silky smooth and soft as a dream. I wouldn't trade it for all the tea in China. [swoon]

In parts of South India where Mrs. Mojo comes from, women have a unique tendency toward facial hair: it grows from their temples across the sides of their foreheads. Many of her relatives have this (although she doesn't). I don't care for she-mustaches, but fortunately Indian women don't have mustaches.

I totally love women's dark and thick eyebrows. They are so sexy beautiful. It follows from this that I loathe plucked eyebrows. Bald brow ridges—Yuck. Ladies, please, please don't pluck!

Women's head hair is at its best when long, thick, wavy and Chelsea Clinton luxurious. Fortunately, most Indian women have this including my cherished Shakti Yoni Devi goddess. Fortunately I work with a lot of Black women who have this too.

Straight Dope

Geez Nym, that's quite a reaction to this post. Is there something we don't know?

PS: Do you braid?

I think I'm in love.

Here's one.

Swedish model gets rape threats after ad shows her unshaved legs

https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2017/oct/06/swedish-model-...

She wrote on Instagram: “Me being such an abled, white, cis body with its only nonconforming feature being a lil leg hair. Literally I’ve been getting rape threats in my DM inbox. I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like to not possess all these privileges and try to exist in the world. Sending love and try to remember that not everybody has the same experiences being a person.”

Also razor blades are that bloody dear now and hubby needs to keep em sharp for him (he's not ready to grow a beard yet).

I shave my face on a daily basis. Don't have the physique for chest shaving. As to all the women out there: It's your body, do what you want with it!

One hint though: Tattoos and hairy bods don't mix too well.

...then again I knew a punk girl back in the 70's who dyed her pubes green and had a "keep off the grass" sign tattooed just above!
