I learned about what cancer was and how it developed back in the late 1960s by listening to lectures by biochemist Michio Kushi. Once I understood the role of food and how one lives in its development, and looked at where it had arisen in my paternal and maternal lineages, I've never given it another look. I simply follow the principles I was taught. Not bragging, just saying it's not genetics, it's how you eat and live to correct the genetics degenerating because of industrial foods, air, water, etc. Chemo is just more of the same "germ warfare" military model: it eventually kills. In fact, cancer was "invented" at Fort Derrick, Maryland under chemical / biological warfare and has provided millions of guinea pigs. The refined food industry (and now nanotechnology) feeds cancer. How it develops is not a "mystery."
