Not many people know that canola oil may actually be detrimental to health.
Canola oil has long been a regular in health food stores’ supermarket shelves, largely due in part to its popularity that has spanned for nearly two decades. Canola oil remains to be hugely appealing to consumers, and is still the most preferred cooking oil in the restaurant industry. The oil is also known for its apparent benefits that include smaller waist lines, a healthy heart, and a cleaner environment.
However, not many people know that canola oil may actually be detrimental to health. Canola plant is a hybridized version of rapeseed, which undergoes a variety of chemical processes before turning into the popular canola oil. Rapeseed oil was once popular for its industrial use, but consuming it was associated with a variety of health woes. Because it is a hybrid of rapeseed, canola oil may prove to be not a very healthy choice, after all.
In addition, the canola plant was one of the very first organisms that were genetically modified. This means that the canola plant might have been exposed to tremendous amounts of pesticides. In line with this, this article will cite a few reasons why canola oil might be problematic.

Some time ago I heard that rapeseed oil was imported extensively from Canada into the USA in the 1940's for wartime use in submarines and other engines. Apparently it's one of the few oils that will STICK TO METALS. Later they "fixed" it so it could be consumed. I remember when canola first hit the market and was heavily promoted thru the media as a healthy and beneficial alternative to "vegetable oils". I always wondered "What is a canola?" until my drive through the northwest where we saw extensive fields of canola. They are beautiful in bloom. Bright yellow.
As far as reducing "bad" cholesterol, one study showed that consuming 4 Brazil nuts with a meal lowered levels by as much as 20 points and for several weeks! Of course, the whole "cholesterol" narrative has been debunked as ridiculous.
Thanks for the story on rapeseed VL. Makes me want to gag thinking about what they put in it to unstick the oil.
Can not eat anything at take away bars or restaurants any longer. Mose of NZ food outlets use canola oil and other cheap byproducts.
I use good quality, local, pure virgin olive oil and coconut oil and often twice a day. We also eat NZ butter without any guilt and no one living in my home is overweight. We don't deep fry but we certainly don't shy away from the good oils. What a difference this choice has made to my weight and health. Cholesterol narrative is ridiculous indeed. Use healthy oil and forget the commercial stuff.
It freaked me out to think that.... with all the heavy metals in the air, water and food, that canola oil may have been designed to enhance the transhuman agenda by facilitating the construction of nano computers inside living organisms.
I've also noticed my ability to eat food prepared by restaurants has become limited. There's a sensation after eating such food that the digestive system simply refuses to process such food. It sits there. When that happens, I take a handful of activated charcoal. It's how the medical establishment treats poison victims and works well! What a strange world we are in.
Wow Linda - thanks for that info.
