Decide at the box office if you think the work in Avatar seems more than a little similar to the images of iconic English artist Roger Dean.

Yes, I remember Strange Days. Close to what's happening now isn't it?

What really upsets me about the Hijacking of Dean's work, is that Dean is essentially one of us, and a pioneer of the "Respect Nature" philosophy of infrastructure and architecture, with Feng Shui influences.

Roger Dean is often approached by Hollywood elites to design movie effects, but usually turns them down.

From Sub Rosa America, Book 2, regarding James Cameron (and all the other Camerons, like Ewen Cameron, Marjorie Cameron . . .):

"Disney Imagineering, DreamWorks, and Digital Domain were plugged into intelligence agencies plugged into MK-ULTRA optics and acoustics. Imagineers like Spielberg, Coppola, Lukas, and Cameron had been handpicked to re-engineer the motion picture into a psychic driving vehicle for subliminal imagery and sound . . . After Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), technology catapulted ahead, thanks to MK-ULTRA. Star Wars (1977), Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), Alien (1979), and E.T. (1982) would get the alien thing going until Cameron’s Terminator (1984) and The Abyss (1989) introduced spellbinding realism with the morphing technique of photo-realistic computer animation. Superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) readers in Loews Cineplex theaters would heighten the subconscious experience of the audience, like in the aptly named 1995 sci-fi film Strange Days feedback process that reads tiny magnetic fields of quarks. Harry Potter’s Sorting Hat preprogrammed audiences for SQUID sensors that read the human brain, as the book Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone J.K. Rowling forewarned—

And now the Sorting Hat is here
And you know the score:
I sort you into Houses
Because that is what I’m for.
But this year I’ll go further,
Listen closely to my song:
Though condemned I am to split you
Still I worry that it’s wrong,
Though I must fulfill my duty
And must quarter every year,
Still I wonder whether sorting
May not bring the end I fear . . ."

I actually stumbled upon this vid. while researching my latest blog.

I watched Avatar at the movies and loved it, especially the obviously Roger Dean designed environments and creatures. I was mortified, however, to find no mention of him in the credits. It wasn't until about a year later that I found out through Roger's site that he had no part in the movie design, and that he intended to sue Cameron for ripping off his work.
