From Skripal to Chemical Attack: What Accusation Is Next?

From Skripal to Chemical Attack: What Accusation Is Next?

Paul Craig Roberts

Einstein said that the definition of insanity is to continue doing the same thing and expect different results. Isn’t this what the Russian government is doing when it continues to respond to false accusations and expects facts to have any bearing on the matter?

As soon as the British orchestration of the “Skripal poisoning” was exposed as part of the ongoing plan to demonize Russia, the next false flag event is staged. Again Syria is accused of a chemical attack against civilians. As the Syrian army is fighting successfully against Washington’s mercenaries euphemistically called “rebels” even by Russian media, the accusation of a chemical attack against civilians makes no sense. It is well known that the “White Helmets” are a Washington propaganda organization whose mission is to foster fake news about staged events.

Nevertheless, the Russians again rose to the bait. General Yury Yevtushenko said that as soon as Douma is liberated Russia will send specialists to collect data that will expose the accusation as a fabrication.

As if Washington will care. Washington has already declared that Russia is responsible no matter who did it.

As long as Russia keeps responding to false charges, Washington’s strategy of keeping Russia on the defensive responding to accusations will continue to work.

"Massive explosions" heard above Syria

... amid reports of fighter jets airstrikes; Pentagon denies

Update: confusion, of course. According to Syria's TV channels, there has been an "aggression on T4 airfield with several strikes, likely to be by the US”. Meanwhile Pentagon officials deny any  US involvement.

Which suggests that Israel (and/or France) may have taken the initiative to bomb Syria on its (their) own, although it is unclear if with or without Trump's blessing:

An interesting IDF tweet from February suggests Israel has had its eye on T4 for a while: "For a long time Iran and the Quds Force have been operating, with the backing of Syrian forces and the approval of the Syrian regime,  from the Syrian T-4 Airbase near Tadmor."

And yes... France:

Meanwhile a Syrian military source said "several fatalities" resulted from missile strikes on T4, according to pro-Assad media.

Multiple so far unconfirmed reports are coming in of a Sunday night air raid over Eastern Homs targeting several military facilities in Syria, including explosions at Syria's Tiyas Military Airbase (also known as T-4), as well as Al Sin and Al Shoryaat air bases.

The unconfirmed reports follow footage of jets crossing through Lebanon, while there are also reports that U.S. warships have fired cruise missiles.

Syrian state TV has confirmed the strike on the T4 airbase:

Syrian State media says that air defenses are responding to missile attack on military airbase in Homs countryside. Others saying it's T4 military airbase.

The alleged strikes on Syria come on the heels of word that the White House has been close to a decision on whether to hit Syria after last night's reported chemical weapons attack in Douma.

Earlier on Sunday President Trump tweeted that the Syrian government will "pay a price" for the reported chemical attacks.

Meanwhile, according to a WSJ reporter covering DC, Pentagon officials say there is no truth to reports that US has launched an attack against Assad bases in Syria.

Adding to the confusion, are reports that at least some of the aircraft above Syria have been "identified" as Israeli, although the IDF has yet to indicate, or confirm, it is conducting an offensive attack on Syria.

Any US missiles fired at Syria will be shot down, launch sites targeted – Russian envoy to Lebanon
The Russian military reserves the right to shoot down missiles and destroy launch sites in the event of US aggression against Syria, Moscow's envoy to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin has warned.

Zasypkin stressed that “the Russian forces will confront any US aggression on Syria, by intercepting the missiles and striking their launch pads,” al-Manar TV website reported, citing the envoy.

Speaking to the channel, the ambassador also said that the allegations of a chemical attack were being used to justify “offensive acts” in Syria, while “the US and Western escalation against Syria will lead to a major crisis.”

The statement comes after Washington threatened a "forceful response" against Syria after an alleged chemical attack in the Damascus suburb of Douma on Saturday. The US was quick to pin the blame on the Syrian government, basing its accusations on unverified data and images, including reports from the infamous, rebel-linked White Helmets ‘civil defense’ group.

On Tuesday, the UN Security Council failed to pass three consecutive resolutions calling for an investigation into the alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria. A Russian-sponsored draft backing a fact-finding mission at the site by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is the latest to have been rejected by the body.

As the initiative was voted down by the US, the UK, France and Poland; Russia's UN envoy Vassily Nebenzia once again called for the West to "refrain from the plans which you might be harboring with regards to Syria.”

Earlier on Tuesday, the OPCW announced that is preparing deploy its team to Douma “shortly” to investigate the reports of an attack there. Earlier, Russian specialists at the site had found no traces of chemical weapons or any victims treated for chemical poisoning.

While US President Donald Trump is weighing up options, reports emerged signaling that Washington is beefing up its forces in the Middle East. On Monday, the guided-missile destroyer ‘Donald Cook’ departed the port of Larnaca in Cyprus, reportedly heading towards Syria. Meanwhile on Wednesday, the USS ‘Harry S. Truman’ aircraft carrier, accompanied by strike groups, is scheduled to set sail for a “regular” mission to the Middle East and Europe.

Meanwhile, Eurocontrol – an EU body tasked with handling air traffic over the continent – issued a Rapid Alert Notification, warning flight operators in the Eastern Mediterranean about “the possible launch of airstrikes into Syria with air-to-ground and/or cruise missiles within the next 72 hours.”

While the West is poised for a military response to the alleged chemical incident in Syria, Moscow is warning against further destabilization of the region. Russia hopes that all the sides will “avoid any steps which are not provoked by anything in reality and can substantially destabilize the already fragile situation in the region,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday.

Starting Syrian War Over What?

Timelines Of 'Gas Attacks' Follow A Similar Scheme

Elijah J. Magnier, currently in Syria, relates information about the attack on the T4 airbase in Syria a few hours ago:

  • 8 missiles launched against the T4 could be #Israeli attack. Jet heard over the Lebanese city of Baalbek. #Damascus said the missiles came from the south. Syrian air defence managed to intercept 3 missiles. #ISIS advanced towards Sabaa-Byar simultaneously with the missile attack.
  • The information coming from #Syria T4 military base report at least 6 killed and 12 wounded by the 8 #Tomahawk missiles launched in the last hours.
  • The T4 military airport is situated in the heart of al-Badiya and serves to deal mainly with #ISIS pocket
  • In my [April 1] article I said Israel won't accept the ROE despite #Israel Chief of State - I would say tactical - denial: Israel won’t leave the Syrian sky alone and Damascus is ready for c...
  • The number/type of missiles launched against the military airport called T4 situated in rural #Homs and the count of casualties need to be confirmed. In few hours, #Damascus will issue a communiqué offering its version in details.
  • Many #Syrians celebrate #Israel attack against their own country. This is what #Assad #Iran and #Hezbollah are mainly fighting along with takfiree.
  • T4 military airport supports Deir-Ezzour & al-Badiyah battle against #ISIS. It is unrelated to "#Hezbollah supply of weapons". The attack is directly related to #Israel unwilling to see the end of the war in #Syria. Israel supports Jihadists in the south.
  • Because #USA #UK #France can't look weak and not bomb the #Syrian army in response to the "chemical attack" claim/staged in #Ghouta... Because #Russia can't look weak and not respond... Maybe the T4 #Isrtaeli attack is a compromise to halt a wider war?
Does Presence of White Helmets Indicate False Flag Chemical Attacks in Syria?

Journalists and researchers who've travelled to Syria and interviewed local residents have formed an entirely different perception of the group. For instance, Vanessa Beeley previously suggested to Sputnik the White Helmets are a "propaganda construct," supporting the "neo-colonialist" ambitions of Western powers and violent extremist groups operating in Syria. Moreover, she has collected documentation indicating the group plays an active, often armed role in the terrorist war on the government of Bashar al-Assad.

"The White Helmets have been crucial to anti-Assad propaganda efforts, offering first-hand‘proof' of chemical weapons attacks and other alleged atrocities carried out by government forces, which are then used to make the case for intervention. These attacks are often proven to have been staged — or the work of opposition forces — later down the line. Another interesting feature of their videos is they never document actual strikes, just the aftermath, and there are always a vast number of cameras on-site," Vanessa told Sputnik in March 2018.

With Latest Syria Threats, Trump Continues to Be More Confrontational Toward Russia on Syria Than Obama Was

This morning on CNN, former Clinton Secretary of State Madeleine Albright – who spent 2012 mocking Mitt Romney as an archaic Cold Warrior for warning that Putin posed a grave threat to the U.S. – praised Trump’s tweets: “I agree with President Trump and his description of Putin,” she said, adding: “at least the President has recognized that Putin is not a friend.” She then demanded that a “strategy of some kind” is needed for this new bombing campaign, worrying that one has not yet been formulated:

It’s certainly true that Trump – like Obama before him – has repeatedly expressed a desire to work with Putin and Russia on perceived common interests. Just today, after threatening Putin, Trump lamented that “our relationship with Russia is worse now than it has ever been, and that includes the Cold War.” He added, echoing what was once standard orthodoxy among American liberals for decades during the Cold War: “There is no reason for this. Russia needs us to help with their economy, something that would be very easy to do, and we need all nations to work together. Stop the arms race?

What makes all the more dangerous is that Democrats, both because of ideology and political maneuvering, have painted themselves into a corner where they cannot possibly provide any meaningful, credible opposition to Trump’s increasingly dangerous path regarding Syria and Russia.

“Both the Joint Chiefs of Staff and CENTCOM, the US forces in the Middle East, were compiling target lists and attack options to be presented to Trump and his national security team within hours, the officials said,” i24NEWS wrote.

False Flag Chemical Attack In Douma Staged So Neocons Can Justify I...

The Zio-Anglo-American Axis is quite determined to complete their Greater Israel project even though Putin’s Russia has already wrecked their plans once.  See: Putin’s Russia Blows Up Scheme For ‘Greater Israel’

Ever since Trump was elected, the same Zionist Neocons under W. Bush have been appointed to various positions in the West Wing.  John Bolton is only the most recent and notorious of these hardcore warmongers. “Bolton appointment proves that Trump is being blackmailed! —

This continual stacking of the Trump administration with Russophobes and Iran haters is by purposeful design.  It’s also no accident of presidential fate that the Trump has allowed himself to be used to promote war for Israel.   In fact, this particular date with Armageddonhas been planned for centuries by the NWO globalist cabal.

The United States, United Kingdom and Israel have proven to the world community of nations that they will execute any false flag attack anywhere, anytime to advance their New World Order agenda.   A big piece of that agenda is the Greater Israel project.  Hence, the whole world has been witness to one false flag chemical attack after another.

Syrian chemical weapons attack was false flag operation, Fox News host suggests

Fox News host Tucker Carlson has suggested that the recent suspected chemical weapons attack in Syria was a false flag operation and that the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was not responsible for it.

In his current affairs program broadcast on Monday night, Carlson slammed the American media pundits and politicians who are calling for a war against Syria over the alleged attack near the capital Damascus on Saturday.

The attack in the militant-held town of Douma in the Eastern Ghouta region left dozens dead and drew international condemnation from various countries and international bodies. The Assad government strongly rejected the allegation of using chemical munitions.

“The push to war in Syria by the way has united politicians from both sides,” Carlson said in his introductory remarks.

Neocons and liberal interventionists are back in the saddle again —...

The news is filled with threats of a renewed American war in Syria. This morning President Trump warned Russia and Syria that missiles would be coming “nice and new and smart.” Two days ago the warmongering John Bolton took over as national security adviser. Three days ago Israel bombed a military base in Iran, and Iran has since warned Israel that it will pay for the killing of seven Iranians.

What’s remarkable about these threats is the instant support they are gaining inside the Beltway from neoconservatives and liberal interventionists, the two great hosts of the Iraq war runup 16 to 20 years ago. From Clintonites to Cottonites, the old duopoly of hawkish foreign policy is strong– even as moderating voices express fears about the potential for wider conflict and even world war. Here is a brief tour.

Neocons are thrilled about the prospects for a war with Iran in Syria. The New York Times publishes an op-ed from Michael Doran of the neoconservative Hudson Institute, urging a US-Israeli war with Iran in Syria. Notice the belief in war as a form of diplomacy:
