Emille Leaf left the Cape on his Hikoi of A Poisoned Nation at Sunrise this morning ... Emille might look like a lone voice walking in the wilderness but he is far from alone.
Emille has thousands of supporters in NZ and also thousands internationally who will be following his walk to Parliament where he will present a standing order he is carrying at the request of the Te Whakaminegna o nga Hapu o Nu Tireni, the 1835 declaration of the Confederation of Tribes.
The standing order is to cease and desist, addressed to the Government regarding importation possession and use of 1080 or any other toxin. He says Iwi have the final say on the importation of any toxic substances detrimental to environment.
Emille says he has also support from his tipuna who include Toi, Kupe, Tumutumu Whenua, Hone Heke and Miria Szaszy; an impressive lineage.
He says is reaffirming his Aunt Dame Whina Cooper’s hikoi for land rights. Dame Whina’s catch cry was "Not one more acre", and Emille has added to that with "Not one more area poisoned".
This morning's message from Emille is " He mihi arohanui to everyone! Join me anytime for as long as you want! Lets do this!"
ABOVE .. Emille in prayer at last night's sunset.
