Bush Fires In South Australia 02.01.2015

At the moment we have two massive fires here in South Australia. One down the South-East and the other closer to home, north of Adelaide and north-east to us. We noticed the tell-tale plum at work which wasn't that big but we knew it had the potential. By 3.30pm and the way home I took this first photo.

Then one on the way out to the pub for tea at 6.30pm.
Finally one 45 minutes later on the way home.
Temperatures today got to 43C with 37C due tomorrow with thunderstorms. If we get no rain with it it could turn into a war scene.

Good article Cuzzie Bro, really makes a point. In the beginning  I thought that the original idea of insurance Companies being founded was to provide fire protection and response, but those companies are now mostly focused on the business of collecting profit. The Christ Church earth quakes insurance wrangles, lies and frauds are other examples of this.

Other than trying to hide our poor local economy and the negative attitude towards the government because of the Emergency Services Levy CFS Volunteers Association calls for review of Emergency Services Levy

Just wondering was there any other 'agenda' happening while you were all focused on these fires Cuzzie Bro?

that is so sad and tragic cuzziebro, I worked round that Gawler area back in 2010.  Hope they get it under control soon. Poor poor cats and other animals and of course humans too.

If you stop the video at 0.17sec on the right above the Google Earth Logo you'll see Gawler River marker...we live to the right which is well out of the danger area.
